Douglas Homeyer is a proud servant of the St. Petersburg community who brings more than 40 years of experience to his mission as the founder and president of Benefits Plus Financial. Douglas’s passion and purpose are to help people make the most positive choices with their financial planning and retirement planning, and as a highly qualified CLU®, ChFC,® LUTCF®, and RHU® he takes a holistic approach with everyone from beginners to seasoned investors. “You don’t know what you don’t know” is Douglas’s motto, and he’s here to give you the confidence and peace of mind that can be yours as you master your current and future financial outlook.

For Douglas, financial planning is a family legacy: his father and mentor, Curtis G. Homeyer, CLU®, CHFC®, served and assisted clients in his practice for over 50 years. Since moving to St. Pete from Little Rock, AR, Doug has jumped into the rich local culture with both feet. He’s a member of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce as an ambassador, vice chair of the downtown waterfront master plan task force, St. Petersburg Rotary, Million Dollar Round Table, volunteers for the city, and enjoys all the outdoor recreational activities that the Florida sunshine has to offer. Call Douglas, whatever the situation may be, and you’ll find that he believes in that old saying: “I’ve never met a stranger.”

Brayana C. Pettit

Before joining Benefits Plus Financial, Brayana established a career in the medical field, leveraging this experience to navigate the complex healthcare regulations and foster innovative solutions within Benefits Plus Financial. Holding a Life, Annuity, and Health Insurance License in the state of Florida and in addition to other states, Brayana is committed to leveraging her extensive background to guide clients through the complexities of health insurance. This unique background equips Benefits Plus Financial with a deep understanding of healthcare dynamics, allowing Brayana to offer strategic insights and tailored solutions to clients’ insurance needs.

Originally from the Maryland/Washington DC area, Brayana has called St. Petersburg, Florida home for over 9 years. Recently becoming actively involved in the community with the establishment of Benefits Plus Financial, Brayana is dedicated to contributing to local business growth and community welfare. 

As Partner and COO of Benefits Plus Financial, Brayana is poised to drive operational excellence, foster client relationships, and lead the company towards sustainable growth. Alan Horner

Health Insurance Specialist, Benefits Plus Financial

Alan Horner is a seasoned professional dedicated to serving the Tampa Bay Community by providing expert assistance with health insurance since 2012.

His journey into the intricacies of health insurance began in 2006 when he relocated his parents from Pennsylvania to St. Petersburg to offer them support as they aged. This transition sparked his interest in understanding Medicare, realizing that many seniors in the United States lacked a comprehensive understanding of its benefits and how it catered to their healthcare needs. Through firsthand experiences accompanying his parents to medical appointments, Alan gained a profound insight into the healthcare system, surpassing the understanding of many healthcare providers.

In 2012, Alan obtained his license and commenced aiding seniors in navigating Medicare, utilizing his expertise to educate and clarify the complexities of the government healthcare system. Recognizing that health insurance isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution, Alan’s approach focuses on tailoring health plans to individual needs, ensuring each person receives optimal coverage.

As demand grew, Alan expanded his services to assist individuals under 65 with their medical and insurance requirements, particularly with the advent of The Affordable Care Act in 2014, which he diligently studied and became proficient in. This expansion marked his commitment to staying abreast of evolving healthcare policies and effectively guiding clients through the nuances of ACA, commonly known as Obamacare.

In addition to his expertise in Medicare and ACA, Alan also specializes in helping companies navigate Small Group insurance options. Furthermore, he offers guidance on supplemental insurances such as Dental, Accidental, and Critical Illness coverage, recognizing the importance of comprehensive healthcare solutions.

Alan’s philosophy centers on personalized service. By conducting thorough interviews to understand clients’ needs and preferences, he ensures they are placed in the most suitable coverage that optimizes benefits while minimizing costs. His dedication to serving the community with integrity and expertise has made him a trusted resource for individuals and businesses alike in managing their healthcare needs effectively.
